Embossed aluminium foil
Aluminium foils with embossed surfaces are often called embossed foils. The term stucco is often used for thicker aluminium (strip > 0.300 mm). In order to emboss the aluminium foil, the smooth foil is processed with embossing rollers.
Embossing
In contrast to the relatively coarse embossing of aluminium foils in technical applications, the embossing of foils in the cosmetic or food sector, for example yoghurt lids, is very fine. Fine embossing is necessary here because the aluminium foils are relatively thin.
Other possible embossing versions include for example cup or calotte embossing, in addition to standard coarse grain embossing.
Our standard widths are 1.000 or 1.250 mm. Of course, we can also produce rolls with individual widths of e.g. 53 mm.
Aluminium foils with embossed surfaces are called embossed foils. The term stucco is often used for thicker embossed aluminium (> 0.300 mm) which is called strip.
Our thinnest embossed aluminium foil has a thickness of 0.030 mm (30 µm). If we emboss even thinner aluminium foils, tears and holes can occur because of the low thickness.
Application of Embossed aluminium foil
Coarse grain foils can often be found in the building sector: as pipe jackets for technical insulation, insulation laminations, etc. But they are also used for solar panels
