The structure of TFS(Tin-free/electro-chrome coated plate) consists of 4 layers, which are steel base, metal chromium layer, chromium oxide layer and oil film

The roles of the TFS surface layer are:

(1) The steel base----- provide strength for the product and ensure the process formability of TFS;

(2) metal chromium layer, passivation ability, good corrosion resistance, because it is a cathodic plating layer, only for the steel base to provide mechanical protection, at the same time, metal chromium strong passivation ability, easy to produce a layer of very thin passivation film (chromium oxide);

(3) chromium oxide layer has high chemical stability, the film's electrode potential is more positive than iron, in general corrosive media belongs to the cathodic plating layer, need to be coated to isolate the contents of the layer belongs to the amorphous layer, which can be closed to the pores of the metal chromium layer, to provide excellent adhesion of the coating;

(4) The role of the oil film is rust prevention and lubrication, and the lubricating effect is higher than that of electroplated tin.

                                                         
Appliaction
 

The surface condition of TFS is divided into shot-blasted surface, hemp surface and stone surface.

1)Shot blasting bright surface finishing has the unique luster of metallic chrome, which is suitable for ordinary cans;

2)stone surface finishing has special luster, which is suitable for the bottom cover of round cans;

3)hemp surface finishing has silver-white luster, which is used for printing iron cans with good paint adhesion.
