Aluminized steel is a kind of carbon steel treated by a hot-dip coating process on both sides with aluminum or aluminum-silicon alloy. This process aims to enhance its properties, particularly corrosion and rust resistance. Aluminized steel possesses the strength, hardness, and excellent mechanical properties of traditional steel while incorporating the attractive appearance of aluminum and its antioxidant properties. The perfect combination of these qualities makes aluminized steel a metal material with enhanced capabilities and wider applications.

 

Aluminized steel comes in two types, Type 1 and Type 2. 

 

Aluminized steel Type 1 is hot-dip coated with a thin layer of aluminium-silicon alloy, with 5% to 11% added silicon to promote better adherence. It is primarily intended for heat-resisting applications and also for uses where corrosion resistance and heat are required. This type of steel finds its main applications in industrial equipment and commercial products.

High Heat Application

 

A463 is used for firewalls, automobile exhaust pipe, Ffuel tank, combustion furnace, heat exchanger, dryer, air conditioner, household water heater tank, gas stove, bread box, chimney, microwave oven and the housings.
Aluminized sheet and coil can maintain their bright appearance and provide long-term service at temperatures up to 900 degrees F
