Titanium alloy round steel is a type of round steel made by adding other alloying elements to titanium. Its production usually involves processes such as electron beam melting, casting, hot forging, hot rolling, cold rolling, annealing, and surface treatment to achieve a good microstructure and properties. It possesses numerous outstanding properties. For instance, its density is generally around 4.5g/cm³, which is much lower than that of metals such as steel and nickel alloys. However, its tensile strength is relatively high. For example, the tensile strength of TC4 titanium alloy can reach over 900MPa. It has a high strength-to-weight ratio, which can reduce weight while ensuring structural strength and stability. At the same time, it has excellent corrosion resistance in various corrosive media such as seawater, chlorides, strong acids, and strong alkalis. Some models, like TC4, still have excellent mechanical properties at around 400°C, and there is no toxic reaction when in contact with human tissues. Its mechanical properties are close to those of human bones, and its processing performance has gradually improved with technological development. It can be made into various types of components through multiple processing methods. In terms of standards, there are standards in different fields such as ASTM B348/ASME SB348, ASTM F67, ASTM F136, AMS 4928, etc. The specifications usually range in diameter from 1mm to 300mm and in length from 50mm to 6000mm. Customization can also be made according to customer requirements. It has a wide range of applications. In the aerospace field, it is used to manufacture wings, fuselage structural components, etc. to reduce the weight of aircraft. In the medical field, it is used in artificial joints and other medical devices due to its good biocompatibility.
