Performances of Stainless Steel Clad Plate
The carbon steel and stainless steel usually form a metallurgical bond during heating and rolling by hot rolling or explosion bonding or the combination of both and the standard method of producing clad steel is hot roll cladding method.
Hot roll bonding is a commonly used process in our stainless steel clad plate factory. During this process, clean sheets of carbon steel and stainless steel are placed on each other, (single-sided cladding), or sandwiched between two stainless steel sheets (double-sided cladding). The composite sheets are hot rolled together.
The stainless steel cladding process results in a bond between the two metals. Another manufacturing method is explosive bonding. The metals bond during the explosion due to the plastic deformation of the strong collision. Explosive bonding after the hot rolling process can improve the bond between carbon steel and stainless steel.
Duplex stainless steel has higher strength, higher corrosion resistance and lower price. The thickness of the sheet can be reduced to maintain strength, so it can be used to make structural units such as pressure vessels, chemical storage tanks, bridges, hot water tanks and processing plants. In recent years, storage equipment and industrial storage tanks in the paper industry, sugar industry, have adopted stainless steel clad plates.
The Stainless steel clad plate shall apply for Industrial Standards. The cladding material and the base metal in the table can be combined freely according to different needs. Stainless Steel Clad Plates should be manufactured in accordance with ASME SA264, ASME A263.

Stainless steel composite panels comply with the GB/T8165-2008 national quality standard, which stipulates that the bonding rate is ≥95% (Level III), ≥98% (Level II) and 100% (Level I). The interface shear strength of grade II and III products is 200Mpa, and the interface shear strength of grade I products is 210Mpa.
